is committed to helping Mexicans bootstrap themselves out of poverty, and become financially independent for life.
At Apoyo, we believe that families can have a better quality of life. With certain skills, motivation, and our team’s guidance and support, the cycle of poverty can be interrupted for good.
Apoyo helps people either start their own businesses, or strengthen existing ones. Apoyo works primarily in low-income neighborhoods in San Miguel de Allende, and in rural communities in the state of Guanajuato.

ADDRESSING POVERTY ISSUES IN RURAL MEXICO
Apoyo recognizes the particular challenges of lower-income communities, especially those in rural areas: the need for more jobs and higher wages (to stem the migration to the cities, and to the United States); the scarcity of business and management training; and limited lack of access to bank loans at affordable rates of interest.
Apoyo was established as a non-profit organization in Mexico in 2005. In the decade since its founding, Apoyo has helped over three hundred entrepreneurs start or expand their businesses.
